Statistics: Russia’s inflation slows down to zero in Jul 14–Mon
MOSCOW, Jul 22 (PRIME) -- Russia’s consumer price inflation slowed down to zero from July 14 through Monday from 0.1% in the previous week, and reached 3% since January 1, the Federal State Statistics Service said on Wednesday.
The sugar prices grew by 0.9% in the period, while the buckwheat prices increased by 0.5%, prices for chicken eggs, sunflower oil, and cookies rose by 0.4%, and prices for rice, flour, canned meat, and tea by 0.3%, while millet prices decreased 0.3%.
Fruit and vegetable prices fell by 0.5% on average. Prices for onions shrank by 4.3%, for potatoes and tomatoes by 4%, for cucumbers by 3.4%, and for cabbage 0.8%. But carrots and apples became 2.6% and 1.6% more expensive, respectively.
